Rank is NOT pursued in the "Warriors of the Sword" program...
wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and personal development are. Rank promotion testing is a result
of our training... not the goal of it.
This is similar to one's spiritual walk. Becoming a "super Christian" is not the goal of our diligence. Getting
to know Jesus Christ better IS!
Below you will find our general belt rankings with approximate educational equivalents.

Kindergarten
The beginner level. No learning has taken place at this point, but there has been a commitment to learn.
At this point, the student has the right to learn. Eventually, with sufficient diligence, the student
can become a scholar.
|
Yellow Belt
The Learning Begins
|
Grade School Levels 1, 2, and 3
At this level, the basic fundamentals are taught. The student has begun what should be a life-long process
of fine-tuning these basics, and adding new skills.
|
Green Belt
Little Children
|
Grade School Levels 4, 5, and 6
At this level, the addtional basics are emphasized, as well as a focus on improving the previous material.
The student has become more confident in performing the foundational skills.
|
Blue Belt
Firm Foundations
|
Middle School Levels 7, 8, and 9
At this level, the student should have a firm grasp of the basic skills. These levels represent the
mid-point to "graduation".

Brown Belt
Apprenticeship
|
High School Levels 10, and 11
At this level, the student is ready to become an apprentice. The student has learned enough to assist
the instructor.
|
Shodan First Degree Black Belt
Real Learning Begins
|
High School Graduation
At this level, the student is proficient in the fundamentals. The student has learned enough to become
a role model for other students, and their skills can be tested occasionally.
A High School diploma does qualify you for certain jobs, but not for life and a career.
Now, the real learning can begin!

Nidan Second Degree Black Belt
Preparation for Life
|
Associates Degree
At this level, the student has continued to enhance their skills. They should be a solid and contributing
member to both their martial arts community and their local community in general.
Like a High School diploma, and associates degree does qualify you for certain jobs, but is still
limited in career possibilities.

Sandan Third Degree Black Belt
Ready for Work
|
Bachelors Degree
At this level, the student is "ready for work". The student has learned enough to become an instructor. Other
students can rely on their training and ability to impart the system.

Yondan Fourth Degree Black Belt
Instructor
|
Masters Degree
At this level, the student has "mastered" the system. This in no way implies that there is nothing left
to learn. The student has developed a high degree of proficiency, so as to realize, they will never stop learning.
|
Godan -Fifth Degree Rokudan -Sixth Degree Sichidan -Seventh Degree
Polisher
|
Doctorate Degree
At these levels, the student has attained to various levels of doctorate degrees. The student continues
to develop and further enhance their martial art skills, and is now capable of "polishing" and "refining" the skills of others,
even others of advanced ranks.

Hachidan Eighth Degree Black
Belt

Professor
This is currently the highest rank in our system. This rank is held by Grandmaster Rev. Robert Heisner.
Mr. Heisner has been Mr. Dallmann's instructor since 1984.
